The University’s £36 million Surrey Sports Park is an investment that has benefitted the local area widely since it opened in 2010, fast becoming one of Europe’s premiere sites for high performance sport, physical activity, well-being and leisure.
Surrey Sports Park hosts some of the best facilities in the world, attracting its own international and national events and teams that bring world-class athletes to Surrey.
The Park hosted 16 Olympic and Paralympic teams for pre-games training and is the official team base for the Italian and Irish rugby union teams during the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
The venue is also the permanent training base of Harlequins rugby team, Surrey Storm netball team, British Basketball League club Surrey Heat and UK top-five swimming club Guildford City.
Surrey Sports Park isn’t only for staff, students or high-performance athletes, though. Members of the public are encouraged to get involved at whatever level suits them, and a vast range of activities organised with our local community in mind.
We offer high-energy group fitness classes, gentle holistic health and well-being classes or our renowned fun and friendly dance courses. With a state-of-the-art fitness suite, swimming pool, climbing wall or racquet sports facilities, Surrey Sports Park has something for everyone.
There’s plenty of ways for juniors to get involved, too. With a comprehensive programme for under 18s, Surrey Sports Park offers a range activities designed to introduce children to sport and develop key skills.
The programme includes dance, squash, swimming, climbing, tennis, netball, basketball, trampolining and more, for ages ranging from tots to teens.
Surrey Sports Park has also been designed to offer unrivalled provision for disability sport. Disabled users can expect to take part in a number of activities, including climbing, badminton, tennis and the renowned multi-activity Saturday Sports Club.
