The Court of the University meets annually,  usually at the end of each January.  Its statutory purpose is to approve the appointment of the Chancellor,  Pro-Chancellors and the Treasurer.  It also formally receives the Annual Report and Accounts of the University.  

The Court is an important means by which the University maintains links with official,  industrial and professional individuals and bodies from the local and regional communities.
