Each group meeting should have no more than 20 attendees with a mix of both academic and administrative staff where possible. These groups may be per Department, or if it makes sense with regards to numbers, Departments could be combined and meet together.

The focus of these meetings is very much up to the attendees and the Department Heads, but in general there is no preparation required by the participants. The sessions are simply a chance for staff to sit down and have an informal chat with the VC. 

Past sessions have ranged from presentations from the department on their current activities, a Q&A with the VC, where the participants have all thought in advance about what they’d like to ask, to sessions where the VC has talked about current and forthcoming activities at the University.

Notes are taken at each session of any points raised that may require further action, and these will be followed up by the Vice-Chancellor's office where appropriate.
