Enquiries

We can answer short enquiries free of charge. You can come and do your own research for free in the research room, or pay for archives staff to do research for you. Alternatively, you could hire an external researcher- a list of freelance researchers can be found on the National Archives website.

Research room regulations

The purpose of these regulations is to ensure the preservation of unique and possibly fragile records as well as suitable study conditions for quiet research.

Refreshments

Eating and drinking are not permitted in the search room. Vending machines are available on the first floor of the library and there are several different restaurants and coffee shops available on campus.  

Talks or group visits

Please contact us if you are interested in arranging a group visit, talk or archive workshop session.
