After you apply

What happens once you apply for an undergraduate course at the University of Surrey, and when you can expect a decision from us.

Receipt of application email

After we receive your application from UCAS, we will send you an email confirming that we have it. This email will include a link to ‘Surrey Self Service’ and your University number. Please follow the instructions to activate your Surrey Self Service account, as we will use this platform to request additional information if it is needed for your application.

It can take a few days for us to receive your details, but you should receive the confirmation email with five days of UCAS sending us your details. If you have not seen this email within five days, please check your mailbox's junk folder and then contact us at admissions@surrey.ac.uk. Please use the same email account you provided to UCAS when creating your application.

Keeping track of your application

Surrey Self-Service lets you track your University of Surrey application and we'll use Surrey Self-Service to let you know if you need to send us any further information, or if you’re invited to one of our offer holder events.

You can also track your application through UCAS Hub but we recommend you use Surrey Self-Service for the most comprehensive and up-to-date information from us.

Auditions and interviews

For some courses you might be invited to an audition or interview as part of the application process. If this happens, we’ll let you know through Surrey Self-Service.

When will I get a decision?

We receive more applications than we have places, so unfortunately we can't offer a place to everyone. We give equal consideration to everyone who applies through UCAS each year.

We normally make our decisions by the end of March, though the final UCAS deadline for universities to make their decisions is in early May.

If we make you an offer, you’ll be notified through Surrey Self-Service and UCAS Hub.
