DAY 9 OF GUILDFORD INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL
Careful puts you in the care of five over-stretched nurses as they juggle the demands of a busy ward. This new dance/theatre production exposes the beauty and subtlety of caregiving, empathy and altruism, at a time of increasing self-preservation and individualism – and exposes the risks of not caring for the caregivers. A show for anyone who cares or is cared for.
Followed by a post-show discussion with the creators, including composer Milton Mermikides, (Senior Lecturer in Music, University of Surrey)
Careful is a product of Chimera, an arts/research company that creates engrossing artworks exploring our relationship with the medical domain. Supported using public funds by Arts Council England and created in collaboration with nursing experts at Kingston University.
