The University of Surrey hosts an evening with award winning author, journalist, filmmaker and presenter Jon Ronson. Famous for his characteristically candid and humorous accounts of people and groups on the fringes of accepted society, Ronson will discuss his career and read extracts from his work. The event will be followed by a wine reception and a book signing.
Ronson's career has been vast and varied. His books 'Them', 'The Psychopath Test' and 'The Men Who Stare at Goats' were international bestsellers, with the latter having been turned into a major motion picture starring George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges. His critically acclaimed documentaries have covered almost every aspect of the weird and wonderful, from encountering conspiracy theorists and extremists, to searching for aliens with Robbie Williams. His Radio 4 series 'Jon Ronson on...' has been nominated on three occasions for a Sony Radio Award and he is a regular contributor to The Guardian. This will be an event not to be missed.
