The Bollywood Brass Band is a truly exhilarating, rambunctious affair, with hypnotic Punjabi drumming, wailing soprano sax, qawwalis, extracts from Bollywood films on a video screen in the background, and a band which obviously and noisily enjoyed themselves – and so did the audience. Artsworld
Featuring exuberant Bollywood hits by the Bollywood Brass Band with Pakistani Sufi singer Rafakat Ali Khan on vocals, Bollywood dancers, and a fusion of bhangra rhythms with funky dhol drummers.
An extraordinary mix of music, dance and live visuals that will leave you spellbound and dancing. Accompanied by video projections from the original Bollywood films. Fusion Asia celebrates the best in Asian fusion culture and its massive contemporary influence.
A Guildford International Music Festival event. The festival is running from 5-26 March 2011. Please see the website for more details: www.guildfordinternationalmusicfestival.co.uk
