Come and support the University Symphony Orchestra in their final concert of this academic year, featuring student conductors in a wide range of exciting repertoire.
Shostakovitch – Festival Overture, Op 96
Arutunian – Trumpet Concerto
Liszt – Les Preludes
Tchaikovsky – Swan Lake Suite, Op 20a
Sibelius – Symphony No1 – Finale
Conductors: Alec Creed, Peter Ford, Richard Brazier, Sierra Schwartz, Tom Kilworth
The concert opens with Shostakovich’s exhilarating Festival Overture and is followed by the wonderfully melodic Trumper Concerto by the Armenian composer Aruntian.
Also featuring some of the finest music from Tchaikovsky’s ballet Swan Lake, Les Preludes by Liszt and the finale of the Sibelius’s First Symphony, this is a concert that would be foolish to miss!
