The party’s tonight. An elegant affair to mark the long loose ends of a life. But that’s for later. There’s a day to get through first.
In 21 Tables, twenty-one guests watch the day run out on them. They sit alone, trying not to spill out stories and lies. They’re in the kitchen staring out at the day, in a café by the swollen river, lost in a long, lonely restaurant or in a friend’s half-empty apartment. Draw up a chair, sit down for a moment. Just until the rain stops.
We invite you to sit at some of the 21 tables and to look, close up, at twenty-one lives as they unfold, day into night. 21 Tables is a series of real-time, immersive and simultaneous performances, each for single spectators.
It has been devised with students in Theatre Studies and directed by Stuart Andrews, with technical production directed by David Hockham.
30 minute performances run every half hour between 11am – 2pm, 3 – 6pm, and 7 – 10pm.
