Join us in this celebration of bright ideas, leading to practice and design that really makes us think.
How is space to be experienced? How are we to conceptualise and structure it? How is space to be represented? Each age, civilisation, or society has set its answers to these questions into its own cultural framework and way of life. It etched them, so to speak, into its own self image and into the image of itself it passed onto posterity.
(Bablet and Bablet 1982:10)
This room has been created and designed by final year Film Studies and Theatre Studies students in response to their explorations in and between theory, deign and practice. They have explored the way these three areas can be drawn together to shape emerging inventions, ideas and artworks.
"I'm interested in what Theatre Studies students find in their analysis and exploration of theatre; it's a process of discovery, revelation, transformation, one that should stay with the students and with those who attend long after the live performance might appear to be over." - Stuart Andrews, Theatre Studies Subject LeaderĀ
