Julian Wild's work explores the potential of functional materials and construction systems and the ecpessive possibilites of a single line or a series of units.
Working in a diverse range of materials from clay and glass through to stainless steel, Julian's sculptures push the physical possibilities of each material to their limits in the objects that he makes.
Through 2011 Julian has held his first major solo exhibition Incomplete Systems, at Burghley House in Lincolnshire. Aselection of the works in this exhibition will be on show in Spitalfields Square, London from April 2012.Alongside these exhibitions, Julian has devised an ongoing, touring communal sculpture project called Making the Connection, in which he encourages members of the public to help create a large linear sculpture from plastic plumbers tubing.
