Michael Dan Archer is a British sculptor working in the UK and internationally in the field of public art and on gallery and site specific projects, and has exhibited worldwide.
Archer makes sculpture in stone, cast iron, neon, steel, unfired brick, eathworks, sound and light/image projection. The materials Archer uses have a strong physical presence; their rich surface qualities are emphasised by the fragmented nature of some works which invoke the mysterious qualities of ancient or timeless architecture. Since the early 1990s Archer has been a senior lecturer at Loughborough University School of Art and Design.

"My sculptures primarily invoke the massiveness and physicality of stone and its relationship to architecture, humanity and landscape." - Michael Dan Archer
