Lithium Ions for Cell Irradiation
Tuesday 28 June 2011
First use of Lithium Ions for Cell Irradiation
First use of a lithium beam from the 2MV Tandetron accelerator in the Stephens laboratory at the Surrey Ion beam Centre. A 6 MeV Li 2+ beam was used in the Surrey Vertical Nanobeam to irradiate V79 mammalian cells and human fibroblast cells in continuing studies of DNA repair mechanisms for cells irradiated with high LET ions.
