A core component of all Printed Electronics is the ability to design and print effective low cost conductive paths. Currently silver is a preferred material, but issues are being raised as to both the cost of silver which is rapidly increasing, as well as its potential environmental impact. Intrinsiq Materials has developed a nano metal approach using copper which offers significant advantages; faster processing, flexibility in terms of substrate and processing equipment and more cost effective. The presentation will examine the issues in using nanoscale copper, the approach that has been developed and the advantages it offers, and the associated new developments in materials and applications.
