Changing Worlds - The Impact of University Research

Professor Stephen Sweeney gave a talk on the impact of the semiconductor laser on the UK economy at an event hosted by the SETsquared Partnership – the enterprise partnership of the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Southampton and Surrey. The Changing Worlds event was held in London on Wednesday 13th October 2010.
The event demonstrated how university research has created new industries, saved lives and changed the way we live by looking at the impact of research in communications, transport, the environment, health and society – nationally and across the globe.
