Thursday 7 October 2010
ESSDERC, one of the largest electronic device meetings in the world, was held together with the sister event ESSCIRC in Seville, Spain between 13-17 September. ATI PhD student Radu Sporea contributed an oral presentation on the source-gated transistor, a high-perfrormance electronic device being developed at Surrey.
Having obtained an international travel grant from the Royal Academy of Engineering, Radu said: "Displaying our results at this level gives me satisfaction and great pride in my work. I am very grateful for the financial support, which enabled me to present my work and meet enthusiastic young researchers and authorities in the field of electronic design".
Professor Ravi Silva, Director of the ATI and Radu's supervisor commented: "ESSDERC was a great opportunity for Radu to discuss his research and meet with potential collaborators. Our presence at the conference speaks for the quality of the research produced at the ATI".
