Best Student Presenter Award at IEEE International Conference

Tuesday 8 February 2011

Congratulations to Advanced Technology Institute (ATI) PhD student Iskandar Yahya who won the Best Student Presenter Award at the 2010 IEEE International Conference on Semiconductor Electronics in Malaysia in July.
Iskandar was one of 120 students from around the world to present papers at the conference, for which his was awarded the top prize.

ATI Director Professor Ravi Silva said “we are very proud of the achievements of our PhD students and to get a best paper award at an international conference is notable. It makes it all the more pleasing since the platform technology to grow carbon nanotubes at low temperature substrates that are CMOS compatible was invented at Surrey”.

Iskander Yahya is sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia. The paper discussed the fabrication and measurements of Carbon Nanotube Field Effect Transistors (CNTFETs) in high vacuum and in atmospheric conditions and was co- written with Dr Steven Clowes, Dr Vlad Stolojan and Prof. Ravi Silva.
