KTP - How it works

KTP’s involve forming a partnership between a company (the company partner) and the University of Surrey (the knowledge base partner), to complete a strategically important project within a particular field where there is a need for knowledge input. 

Under academic supervision the programme is managed and delivered by one or more high calibre graduates or 'Associates' based at the organisation to drive a strategic project and facilitate the transfer of knowledge.  Over 70% of associates are offered a post on a permanent basis, following completion of the project

Projects can vary in length from 1 to 3 years (Classic KTP) and from 26-51 weeks (Short KTP).  Companies are eligible for a grant of up to 67% as an SME or up to 50% for a larger organisation.
