Space Engineering Innovation Grant Scheme
£15k Cash Grants Available for Space Technology Companies
The University of Surrey, in partnership with SEEDA, is offering small businesses up to £15k in cash through their ‘Space Engineering Innovation Grant Scheme’.
These cash grants can be used for any activity that helps a UK business exploit existing or new projects, ideas, products or services, with the aim of helping create economic impact and grow opportunities for small companies in the South East ‘Space Sector’.
Some examples of what these grants could be used to pay for:
- Proof of concept/feasibility studies
- Product/business development costs
- Patenting, IPR licensing costs or Legal advice
- Market research
- Marketing communications
- To help leverage larger collaborative bids
- Access to University academic research expertise
- Access to University facilities
Applicants should be SMEs or start-up companies based in the SEEDA region, with interests in or links to the space technology sector.
However grants can be used to pay for activities or services with any organisation or University in the country.
Larger companies working in the space industry, or looking to apply space technologies to a new market sector, who can enlist the services of a South East based specialist SME or start-up, for services such as market research, manufacture or consultancy, can also benefit from this scheme.
The call for applications will close on 20th April 2011
