Consultancy and Expert Services at the University of Surrey provide inventive and innovative solutions to current challenges facing businesses, public organisations and community- based groups today.

Expert Services provides access to the state of the art facilities, scientific equipments and cutting-edge developmental and educational facilities in addition to the academic expertise.

With the University of Surrey employing over 2,348 staff and 1,100 postgraduate research students, external organsations can access a vast pool of expertise and our unique facilities through Research and Enterprise Support (RES). Hundreds of single or multi-disciplinary consultancy & expert services projects are carried out each year by RES for clients which range from government departments to borough councils, charities to trusts, hospitals to drug companies, food standard agencies to food companies, and museums to the police force.

Research & Enterprise Support (RES)

RES offers clients an informed entry point into the University and has a dedicated team to support the liaison of academics and businesses. RES helps potential clients define their needs and interests; finds appropriate academic expertise; provides advice and support in setting up consultancy or expert services projects based on the client’s needs.

As prospects approach realisation and require detailed negotiations, RES draws up contracts including areas such as intellectual property, insurance and confidentiality.
