GUIDANCE APPOINTMENTS CAREER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS

PGRs can book individual guidance appointments with Ann to discuss career related issues – future plans, practice interview, CV check etc. Appointments are for up to one hour and you can meet with Ann as many times as you choose. Book an appointment with Ann by calling into the Careers Service, emailing a.henderson@surrey.ac.uk or telephoning 01483 689949. 

Many events run by the Careers Service - particularly the employer sessions - are of great value to PGRs. Visit Careers Service website for information and to book a place at any event.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS

A variety of workshops, organised specifically for PhD students, are delivered through the Postgraduate Skills Development Programme.

• Half day sessions, which explore topics in-depth
• A full day covering 4 shortened workshops - Job Hunting Skills Day

• Successful CVs and Applications
• Improve Your Interview Skills
• Successful Networking for Job Hunting
• Choosing the Right Career (using the MBTI Psychometric Test)
