The paper titled "Optimization for Time-driven Link Sleeping Reconfigurations in ISP Backbone Networks" authored by Frederic Francois, Ning Wang, Klaus Moessner and Stylianos Georgoulas has been awarded the Best Student Paper in the 13th IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS 2012).
This paper has also been invited for the inclusion into the IEEE ComSoc Technology News (CTN, http://www.comsoc.org/ctn) in May 2012, as selected "interesting, timely, and newsworthy" research papers published in ComSoc journals/conferences.
IEEE ComSoc CTN was launched in January 2012, and only less than 5 research publications are selected for the inclusion of CTN out of thousands of ComSoc papers published in each month. This paper is the first and the only IEEE conference paper that is included into CTN since its launch till present.
This paper is based on Frederic's first-year PhD research work in CCSR.
