The IoM3 runs an annual lecture competition aimed at giving young people (defined such that competitors must be 28 or under on 1 June 2012) an opportunity to give a lecture of 15 minutes length on a topic related to materials, minerals, mining, packaging, clay technology or wood science.
Prizes are on offer and the winner of the heat will go on to the next stage - ultimately the National Winner will go on to represent the Institute and the UK at the international Competition, which last year was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Full rules and judging criteria can be found here.
If you think that you or somebody you know has got a competition winning lecture then please contact me. There are a number of prizes on offer and depending on numbers of entries, places will be offered on a first come first serve basis.
