• Water supply surveillance & quality control
• Wastewater treatment and disposal
• Sanitation
• Pollution control and waste management
• Surface water sources and storage
• Environmental surveillance (GIS, Remote Surveillance, Biotic Monitoring)
• Numerical simulation of flow mechanisms in river systems
• Hydrodynamic modelling of mass transport and circulation in lakes, open seas and lagoons
Collaborative Research
A number of collaborative PhD's are currently being undertaken by postgraduate students both in the UK and in the developing world. In addition, six of the new Engineering Doctorates (EngD) in Environmental Technology are being supervised from within the Centre. The EngD Scheme is being jointly operated with Brunel University and provides for a Research Engineer to complete a 4 year programme of research for an Industrial Sponsor, in essence it seeks to produce "the Doctorates that Industry requires".
