The four-year Engineering Doctorate (EngD) is academically equivalent to a PhD - though with one major difference – the Research Engineer spends the majority of their time based with a sponsor organisation working on its commercial research priorities, returning to the University for short courses, conferences and seminars designed to develop specialist technical knowledge and exceptional business skills. The academic based activities and the interaction with our experts ensures cutting-edge ideas constantly flow back into the sponsoring organisation.
