Salary up to £31,331 per annum pro rata

The Centre for Environmental Strategy (CES) is an internationally-acclaimed centre of excellence on sustainable development. We take an inter-disciplinary approach to the analysis of sustainable systems, integrating insights from environmental science and engineering as well as from the economic and social sciences. Our aim is to develop action-oriented, policy relevant responses to long-term environmental and social issues. Applications are invited for the post of Research Fellow in Ecological Macroeconomics for 2 years. Candidates should hold a PhD in Ecological Economics, Environmental Economics or a related subject. Experience in the simulation of dynamic systems and of economic and financial systems in particular would be highly desirable. Applicants should have a proven track record in conducting high quality research and experience of original research in their chosen field.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a dynamic simulation model of an ecologically bounded macro-economy. Working closely with Prof Tim Jackson in CES and other European researchers, the successful applicant will explore the application of the model in a European context. The role forms part of the EU FP7 large-scale project Wealth, Welfare and Work for Europe. Knowledge of or experience in working with European partners would be desirable.
