Michael has presented his work on community engagement in climate change widely at national and international conferences. In 2009 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Michael is lead editor of the recently published volume ‘Low Carbon Communities: Imaginative Approaches to Combating Climate Change Locally’ (published by Edward Elgar Ltd., co-editors: Dr Shane Fudge and Prof. Tim Jackson).
