Actigraphy

Surrey Clinical Research Centre is a world leader in actigraphy. We pioneered the use of the technique in human psychopharmacology. We were also the first centre to use actigraphs to monitor the behavioural compliance of subjects on our clinical trials, which ensures that we collect the best quality data for our clients.

We also have a wealth of experience in using actigraphy in:

• Monitoring movement using wrist actigraphs to assess night-time, daytime and circadian activity and has been validated as a complementary tool in CNS drug research
• Compliance in drug development
• Differentiating the pharmacodynamics of antidepressants in both depressed patients and volunteer populations
• Accurately measuring the time course of the daytime sedation caused by certain antihistamines and antidepressants
