The computer industry - and specifically enterprises - requires distributed and interoperable information systems in order to function and remain competitive. Distributed systems evolve continuously due to the cheaper availability of hardware and high-speed communications. This evolution has drawn new lines in systems architecture design development and allows big corporations to build robust, modular, and reusable components.

This module tries to demonstrate the latest and most popular technologies used for building enterprise applications. Example topics of study include n-tier architectures, integration approaches, build and test environments, persistence approaches, and performance issues.

Although the module covers theoretically most popular technologies, it focuses on Java and J2EE implementation principles.

This intensive 3 day course addresses this real need and provides a comprehensive, practical introduction to the fundamental enterprise level web-related frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, DWR, together with principles of programming languages and development environments; the skills and techniques for building general-purpose state-of-the-art enterprise systems such as Web 2.0 websites, e-commerce sites, database-driven catalogues, online libraries, and an in-depth study of the Web 2.0 server side concepts, requirements, and best practices.

In addition to the regular courses, we can also prepare and deliver individually tailored courses on a bespoke basis. If you cannot find what you are looking for on the regular programme, and have an idea you want to discuss, please feel free to get in touch with us.
