A BCS Guildford Branch Meeting in which Emma Mulqueeny and several young co-presenters will discuss activities in the Young Rewired State, and how to exploit the collection and processing of open public data in collaborative "hack days".

Young Rewired State (YRS) is the philanthropic arm of Rewired State that has the express intent of finding every young coder in the UK aged between 15 and 18 and bringing them together for a week or weekend of rapid agile programming every year and making stuff - with help from Rewired State developers as mentors.

Emma Mulqueeny, the founder of Rewired State, will speak about what YRS does and how, alongside demonstrations from the YRS coders and mentors to show what they made and what keeps them engaged and excited.  Have a look at this year's event at http://rewiredstate.org/yrs and scroll through some of the hacks at http://rewiredstate.org/projects.

This BCS event is open to Members and Non-Members. Students are particularly welcome. Attendance Certificates will be available at this event for inclusion in your BCS Professional Development Portfolio.

Please see the BCS Guildford Branch website for further details.
