In this talk, Prof Jiang will share his personal views about a number of frontline research directions in the area of media computing, which also reflects part of my research plan for the next five years to target large scale externally funded projects. Outline details include:
(i) Walking into movies, interactive media computing;
(ii) Digital spirit, intelligent media computing towards reconstruction of human life;
(iii) Personalized and socialized media computing and services;
(iv) Super-media-computing: compressed domain multimedia search, event correlation, pattern recognition, potential risk prediction and surveillance.
