Biography

David Clarke is Chief Executive of BCS, the professional body for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industries in the UK, representing over 62,000 highly qualified ICT professionals. The BCS represents the profession in many environments from industry to Government on a whole raft of IT-related issues. David has spent nearly thirty years involved with IT systems, firstly in the supply side and then from 1995 to 2002 as Chief Executive in the Virgin group of companies, and then Trinity Mirror plc. Prior to joining Virgin, David spent the previous eighteen years in senior UK, European and Global roles with three global technology companies, Hewlett Packard, Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq Computers.
