Congratulations to Lu Liu for successfully passing his PhD viva on Thursday 15th November. Lu’s thesis is titled: “A social model for efficient resource discovery in peer-to-peer networks”.

Lu has carried out significant work on optimising the resource discovery process in unstructured P2P networks and the results have been published in about 10 good quality articles in international conferences and journals.

Lu was supervised by Dr Nick Antonopoulos and his PhD examiners were Dr Maozhen Li from Brunel University and Professor Paul Krause from the Department of Computing. The examiners were impressed with the thesis’s technical achievements and extensive evaluation.

Lu is currently continuing his research in P2P networking with the University of Leeds as a Research Fellow. The Department would like to wish him all the best for his career.
