Friday 8 June 2007

Graduates from the Department of Computing consistently get top jobs in IT, including a number for those companies ranked in the Fortune 500, as shown by our recent graduate destinations survey.

Graduates from 2006 continue to be employed by some of the top IT firms and uses of IT throughout the country. This year our graduates managed to secure positions in companies including Ericsson, Fidessa, IBM, Lloyds TSB, LogicaCMG, Oracle, Reuters and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

These join the ranks of our students who have been employed by the likes of 3M, Accenture, BT, Cable & Wireless, DTI, EDS, Electronic Arts, Exxon Mobil, J P Morgan, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Royal and Sun Alliance and QinetiQ. Currently 3M, Oracle, Exxon Mobil and J P Morgan rank in the Fortune 500.

This continues our trend of producing employable IT graduates, with some companies repeatedly taking on our students, such as LogicaCMG, Eli Lilly, IBM, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Oracle and Reuters.

This year, our graduates are earning an average of just under £20,000 when they start, with some earning up to £33,000.
