Independent notes value to business of Surrey CIT degree
Friday 1 June 2007
IT skills are essential in all aspects of business, and are an important consideration for employers when seeking graduates. In an article in the Independent on the 1st June, the value of IT skills beyond the norm was cited as being important for all parts of the business. The article also cited the value of including aspects of business within IT degrees, allowing IT savvy graduates into the business domain.
In the article, the Independent cites Roger Peel, one of the Department's senior lecturers, who reported that "our degree has a carefully constructed mixture of core computing subjects as well as business management and commercial subjects so that we can meet the demands of today's organisations."
This emphasis on both business and IT is a key strength of the Department's Computing and Information Technology (CIT) degree programme.
