Salary: Up to £29,138 per annum (subject to qualifications and experience)
We are seeking a Research Fellow to work on an EPSRC-funded project `Error-Control Watermarking' for a period of up to 30 months. The goal of the project is to study applications of Error-Control Coding in Robust Watermarking, including the design of improved Watermarking Systems using established Coding techniques, and the development of a mathematical model for the Coding problem in Robust Watermarking.
The project is part of the growing group on Watermarking and Multimedia Security within the Department.
You should have a PhD in a relevant discipline, such as computer science, mathematics, or electronic engineering. Sound programming skills are essential. The project involves different areas of research, including watermarking, image processing, error-correcting codes, or communications. Prior knowledge of at least one of these areas is desirable, with a willingness to learn the other areas.
Starting date: 1 August 2007 or as soon as possible thereafter.
