New Thales prize for MSc students

As part of the Department's new MSc in Security Technologies and Applications, we are pleased to announce that Thales has agreed to sponsor an annual prize of £200 for the best dissertation submitted as part of the degree.
Thales is one of the world's leading consultancies on security solutions, and the Department is pleased to have formed this alliance, which helps reward top performing students in our new degree programme. The MSc in Security Technologies and Applications degree is a new cutting edge program providing an in depth exposure of a wide ranging of computing security topics including network security, multimedia security, digital watermarking, and cryptography. This is suited to those with a strong background in computing or electronic engineering who wish to specialise in systems and media security. Graduates of this program will typically work as security specialists or continue towards further academic degrees such as a PhD.
