In Pursuit of the 'Electronic Health Record'

Phil Birchall, UK Healthcare Director for InterSystems Corporation

InterSystems, a leading supplier of technology to the healthcare sector for almost 30 years, has a unique view of the healthcare market based on its work with a variety of leading healthcare solutions companies in more than 90 countries around the world. Governments around the world are concluding that the time is right for Electronic Health Records (EHR). Many healthcare Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) professionals would venture that this is long-overdue; the necessary technology seems to be available, and surely the need for such solutions has existed for many years. And yet, progress towards this goal seems to be painfully slow.

This presentation will take a look at a number of international EHR initiatives, highlighting some of the lessons being learned, and the results to date.
