DECC and Detica sponsor new student prizes
Wednesday 10 June 2009
We are pleased to announce that we have secured two new prizes for our students. The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) have agreed to sponsor a prize of £200 for the best student performance in the final year of our BSc programmes, while Detica is sponsoring a £200 prize for the best overall student on the MSc Security Technologies and Applications programme.
Ahad Nujurally, University Liaison Officer for the Department of Energy and Climate Change, commented that “DECC maintains an excellent relationship with the University of Surrey - over the past nine years all of our placement students have been recruited from this university, we go on to retain many of them once they have graduated. When we heard of the opportunity to sponsor a prize for best student performance in the final year of a BSc Computing course, we didn’t hesitate in putting our name forward.”
Ian Golledge, a consultant with Detica, commented that “Detica is pleased to sponsor an annual prize of £200 for the best overall student on the MSc Security Technologies and Applications course. We look forward to forming a close alliance with the University of Surrey and encouraging the best performing students on this excellent MSc course."
