BIMA gets a NICE new name
Thursday 1 July 2010
The Biologically Inspired Modelling and Applications group is changing its name. The group will now be known as Nature Inspired Computing and Engineering (NICE). This follows the appointment of Professor Yaochu Jin from Honda as the group's new leader.
The main objectives for the NICE group are to develop computational models and algorithms inspired from natural intelligence found in physical, chemical, social and biological systems, and to solve practical problems arising from various engineering fields related to health, security, energy efficiency and environment, such as bioengineering and bioinformatics, industrial engineering, and software engineering.
