The paper 'An SBVR to SQL compiler' written by Alexandros Marinos, Sotiris Moschoyiannis and Paul Krause won the Best Demo Award for the 2010 RuleML Challenge that took place in Washington DC on the 22nd of October. The challenge focused on implementations of rules technology that could be demonstrated. A total of 12 teams from industry and academia participated in the challenge and the results were voted by the audience. The paper presented the first public implementation of Semantics of Business Vocabulary and Rules (SBVR), an OMG standard, as well as its compilation into SQL schemas and queries for execution on relational databases.

The RuleML Conference is rated #71, above many esteemed journals in CiteseerX's mixed ranking of journals and conferences.
