Prof Anthony Ho, Head of Department, was asked for a contribution to the Insite article on "Spotting Manipulated Photographs" delving into digital forensics. Prof Ho's research on image authentication has been invaluable in this field and researchers in Professor Ho’s multimedia security and forensics group are also experimenting with applying mathematical algorithms based on laws such as Zipf’s Law and Benford’s Law, in image forensics.
