Friday 20 May 2011

Aaron Mason and Georgios Michalakidis are to represent the University of Surrey at the Santander Entrepreneurial Awards on 5 July 2011.  The Santander award is given to students who demonstrate their commitment to an innovative and strong business proposal.

Aaron and George have also been chosen to represent the University of Surrey at the SETsquared Showcase of Student Entrepreneurship on 7 June 2011.

The two Computing PhD students have been working on a solution for managing remote resources using a combination of mobile, satellite and cloud computing technologies.  Their solution is designed to manage the effective workflow of teams in remote locations through using real-time mobile information and resources. It was motivated by a KTP project managed by Prof. Paul Krause.

Already a lot of commercial interest has been generated.
