Tiger Nation featured in the Daily Telegraph

Tiger Nation is a social networking site dedicated to the conservation of Tigers in the wild. Images of tigers can be uploaded to the site, and the information about the time and location at which the photographs were taken is then used to monitor the movements of the tigers. This use of social networking and image recognition (the images are automatically analysed to identify the tigers based on their stripe patterns) has been rapidly gaining profile as a valuable example of citizen science. The web site and the image recognition software were developed by the Department's technology spinout Thoughtified. It is currently being featured in The Telegraph at:
