Alan Woodward, a cyber security expert and a visiting professor of the Department, commented for the BBC on the the continuous growth of Pastebin which has become a must-visit web site for people who are interested in hacktivists like Anonymous. Around half a year ago, Pastebin announced the plan to hire more staff to police "pastes" with sensitive information (mostly pasted by hacktivists). This caused a backlash from its users and led to the creation of a rival web service called AnonPaste. However, Pastebin seems to have overcome the backlash and is now celebrating its 25 million pastes, a 150% increase since last year. Alan showed his opinion on why Pastebin was not influenced much by the backlash. To see the full story, click here.
