Alan Woodward commented for BBC on their hijacked twitter accounts

Alan Woodward, a cyber security expert and a visiting professor of the Department, commented for BBC on the recent event that several twitter accounts of BBC were hijacked by a group calling itself Syrian Electronic Army. New journal special issue co-edited by Surrey Computing researcher

A journal special issue on "Security and Privacy for Digital Ecosystems", co-edited by Dr Mark Manulis from the Department together with Dr Ioannis G Askoxylakis (FORTH Institute of Computer Science, Greece) and Prof Joachim Posegga (Universität Passau, Germany) appeared in Elsevier's Information Security Technical Report (ISTR) journal. It contains seven original research articles on various challenges in security, privacy, and trust in the context of Digital Ecosystems. This is the first ISTR special issue published after Prof Anthony TS Ho from the Department took over the Editor-in-Chief role of the ISTR journal in 2012.

Alan Woodward, a cyber security expert and a visiting professor of the Department, commented for TechWeekEurope on a new piece of mobile malware sold on dark Web with a price as much as $15,000. He commented that the dark Web has evolved into such a stage that criminals can now have a one-stop-shop to purchase the latest malware to conduct malicious activities.
