Biography

Ahmad was born in Amman, the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He has spent most of his childhood in Novosibirsk, USSR. He studied at the prestigious College De La Salle - Frères, achieving the G.C.E qualification (A-levels & O-levels) in 2002.

He entered the Faculty of Medicine - University of Jordan in 2002, and was a medical student for one year, and after that for another year at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, USA.

Subsequently, he decided to follow his original passion; computer science, and graduated from the King Abdullah II School for Information Technology, Computer Science Department, University of Jordan achieving distinction for his dissertation on Bluetooth® technology in mobile networks, which was supervised by Prof. Saleh Al-Sharaeh.

He received a Master of Science with Merit in Computer Science from the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, School of Computer Science at The University of Birmingham, achieving distinction for his dissertation on Information Security.

He is currently a PhD student at the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, University of Surrey conducting research in the field of digital forensics, under supervision from Dr. Shujun Li, and co-supervised by Prof. Anthony TS HO.

He is a member of the Multimedia Security and Forensics (MSF) Group, led by Prof Anthony Ho. 

He is a member of IEEE and the British Computer Society.

Ahmad speaks five languages (English, Russian, French, Arabic, Ukrainian).

Research Interests

Mobile Device Forensics, Network Forensics, Computer Forensics, Computer Surveillance, Information Security Management.

Departmental Duties

Supporting research activities in accordance with our digital forensics standardization and accreditation project for the UK law enforcement agencies in collaboration with the Department of Psychology.
