Harshana Liyanage started his PhD at the University of Surrey in January 2010 under the supervision of
Prof. Steve Schneider and co-supervision of Dr. James Heather and Dr. Chris Culnane. He is a member of the
Formal Methods and Security (FMS) group, led by Prof. Steve Schneider.
Harshana received his B.Sc.(Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2004.
In 2010 he started his PhD in Secure Electronic Voting Protocols, concerned primarily with the scalability
of practical election systems. He is a member of the Trustworthy Voting Systems Project which is funded by
Electronic Voting, Cryptography, Cloud Computing
