Web Oriented Architecture

Within e-commerce, service deployment and composition has been deeply interconnected with Service-Oriented Architectures, and from there with the WS-* stack. With the evident lack of adoption on the public internet of the Ws-* set of technologies, service composition progress has been limited to the AI community over the last few years, but little if any of this progress is accessible to everyday users. In the place of WS-*, RESTful WebServices have been gaining ground on the Web, but there has been limited progress in composing RESTful Web services.
We have been working to bring the innovations in the WS-* and AI communities back on the Web. To do that, we are focusing on SBVR as a natural way to describe RESTful Web Services, but also generate them directly. We have also made progress with RETRO, thefirst RESTful transaction model. Finally we have described a workflow for composing RESTful Web Services that builds on the previous advances.
The first steps in building a technology stack to support our take on Web Oriented Architecture are being commercialized through the spinout Rulemotion.
